The non-partisan National Conference of State Legislatures on Tuesday deemed the battle for the Pennsylvania state House one of the 10 most competitive in the country.
Democrats hold a slim one-member advantage, 102-101, after recapturing the majority in 2006.
The site wrote: "On paper, Democrats have a one-seat lead over the Republicans in the House, although the speaker is from the GOP. Republicans would like to gain back the majority after losing it in 2006."
The "speaker" referred to in the release is Speaker of the House Dennis O'Brien (R-Philadelphia), who many Republicans consider a GOP member in name only.
