Is a personal family tragedy relevant to a run for political office? View the first part of Tom Manion's "Letters from Travis" below and judge for yourself:
It is refreshing and nothing new that Americans of all walks of life have been through the years spurred into serving this nation by very personal tragedies and Americans have benefited by their service.....if anything, Tom Manion's quest for office shouldn't be ridiculed...he's not a "Political insider" who was handpicked by the powers that be...he's a real citizen, who wants to make a difference...let's not forget that sitting Senator Carolyn McCarthy, a New York, DEMOCRAT, a former nurse was spurred to run for office after her spouse was killed on the Long Island Subway train...she started lobbying as a citizen for gun-control and now serves our country...and we are all the better for it....Tom Manion's motivations are just as noble.
It does seem rather hypocritical that Murphy's team would harp on Manion's son and service in the Iraq war as being inappropriate motivation or misuse of a personal situation. Wasn't Murphy's position on the Iraq war and his experiences there the platform for his campaign? Wasn't his service personal? My children are still young, but I can tell you that if ANYTHING were to cause their loss, I would certainly work to make sure their experience would not go unmarked.
Carpetbagger Patrick won't be able to fool us this time around. A rubber stamp for Rahm and Nancy Pelosi, he is nothing more then a left wing syncophant. Ask him about drilling for oil or doing something to ease the plight of the middle class and he'll spout the same Obama BS. His money comes from moveon.org and he sympathizes with their politics. Don't let his middle of the road jargon fool you, this guy is a card carrying lefty.
I noticed he and his wife ran down to the abortion clinic like all good hippy democrats do! dumba$$ re-puke-licahn statement. I also noticed that he is giving away tons of money in pork! And carpetbagger? Did Manion grow up in this area? (as if that's criteria for running for office). I am sure that his money from J&J came from helping seniors get affordable medicine.
I love it how 5:00 into the video, Tom talks about how 'Democrats politicized the fallen in Iraq'.....Of course, that isn't what you are doing, right Tom?
By far, the most vile hypocrisy I have ever witnessed online. And Murphy isn't even insulting this form of campaigning either.
“The safe (vote) in this area would be voting no."
-- David Sosar, assistant professor of political science at King’s College, on the political implications of U.S. Rep. Paul E. Kanjorski’s vote in favor of the bailout bill
I went to both candidate's websites
Manion's "Issues" page discusses taxes, healthcare, Iraq, immigration, energy, environment, ethics.
Murphy's "Issues" page is completely blank.

To be fair...
Murphy has a bunch of issue stuff on his official site...

Murphy's minions are punks
Murphy is a useful idiot for the left. His service in Iraq as a lawyer was a joke. He knows it!
Patrick Murphy
