Sestak opponent plans trip to ANWR

Congressional candidate Craig Williams: Campaign photoCongressional candidate Craig Williams: Campaign photoSeeking to bolster his credentials as a Republican in favor of off-shore drilling, Craig Williams announced Wednesday that he would take a trip to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge this month.

Williams, who is running against U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Edgmont) in the 7th Congressional District, said the purpose of the trip is to "raise awareness about the availability of domestic energy sources."

"With gas prices at an all time high, we ned to take steps now to reduce our dependence on foreign oil," Williams said in a statement. "We have energy resources available to us domestically that can cut our dependence on foreign oil and provide a bridge to tomorrow when we can more heavily rely on renewable energy sources..."

The trip, which will take place July 13-18, is just one of many political statements being made by candidates on both sides of the aisle in the increasingly heated debate over offshore drilling.

A Sestak campaign spokesman was not immediately available for comment.

Craig Williams is the most creative Republican challenger in the region this year. He may win or lose but he will certainly not go away. He will need a change of clothes for Alaska.

Send him some clothes he can run in Alaska in two years

He is as just creative as being Goose to John McCain's Maverick. At least John McCain admitted that it wouldn't affect gas prices now. But it would just make American's feel better.
(that's just what we need)
Craig is just playing fast and lose with the truth when it comes to this subject. First of all oil drilled here can go anywhere in the world. With Canada is the Biggest exporter to the US. Mexico is number 3 maybe he should start there too.

Or maybe he should start with the falling dollar first.Since oil here gone up by 4x times with the dollar to the euro's 2x.

He could ask Bush to release the Oil reserve like Clinton did. But he can't stop there or do anything else. Because that would mean that he would be blaming Bush somehow. And Republicans put loyalty and office ahead of the country all the time.
