It's been been well-documented that U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) has millions in debt from her presidential campaign that will prove tough to pay back.
Now Pennsylvania school districts are among those calling in the bills, with at least two expressing frustration with the delays in payment
First, the Bethlehem Area School District griped earlier this month that Clinton's campaign still hadn't paid almost $15,000 owed for air conditioner installation that Liberty High rushed to acommodate an April 20 rally, The Morning Call reported.
No one at the campaign returned Assistant Superintendent Stanley Majewski Jr.'s calls or e-mails, he said, "so I am assuming we are being ignored."
Now, the Erie School District is wondering
about nearly $4,000 the campaign owes from a rally Bill Clinton held at East High School Mar. 12. District business manager Rick D'Andrea told the Erie Times-News that he'll refer the bill to district lawyers if the campaign doesn't pay up soon.
"I would imagine, if we don't get paid for it, that this is something we'll have to take into consideration next time campaigns come to Erie and want to use our schools," he said.
Colleges in the state are also waiting for debts to be repaid, and the campaign has said it will take time to process all the bills.
As the campaign neared its end in May and Clinton faced increasing calls to bow out of the race, some Pennsylvania businesses said she should stay in, if only to pay them debts her campaign already owed
