Obama camp pushes Biden's Scranton roots

The campaign for Barack Obama has a clear mission in Pennsylvania: Make sure everybody in the state knows Joe Biden was born in Scranton.

Obama's vice presidential choice will campaign in his hometown Monday, and he will do so in his childhood home.  The senator from Delaware will host an afternoon discussion there on the economy in his first visit to Scranton since being named Obama's nominee.

The Obama campaign has also put out a new ad specifically for northeastern Pennsylvania that highlight's Biden's Scranton roots. In the 30-second ad, Biden acts as a character witness for Obama, telling voters the Democratic nominee for president shares the same values Biden learned growing up.

Obama lost heavily with blue-collar voters to Hillary Clinton in April's primary, including in NEPA.
